1. VIENTIANE CAPITAL (VIENTIANE)
The capital of the country “Land of A Million Elephants” is located on the left bank of the Mekong River, in this section, the river is the border between Laos and the neighbouring country Thailand.

2. THAT LUANG TOWER (PHA THAT LUANG)
That Luang was built in 1566 under the reign of King Setthathirath, with a central tower 45m high in the shape of a gourd of wine rising high in the blue sky, surrounded by 30 small towers representing 30 years of contemplative of Gautama Buddha. The Great Stupa is a national symbol bearing the cultural and religious style of the country “Land of A Million Elephants”, printed on banknotes and the national emblem of Laos.
3. SI MUANG PAGODA (WAT SI MUANG)
This is a famous sacred temple in Vientiane and is considered the soul of the capital, where Lao people often come to pray for peace and happiness. Si Muang Pagoda was built in 1566, it is said that this is the place where the King of Laos placed a sacred pillar to guard Vientiane and many stories of mysterious spirituality surrounding this ancient temple.
4. SISAKET PAGODA (WAT SISAKET)
It is one of the oldest pagodas in Vientiane, built by the last king of the Lan Xang Kingdom in 1818. Sisaket Pagoda is famous for its more than 6,840 Buddha statues made of various materials and was made around the 16th -19th century, and is the storage place of more than 8000 valuable books, including many ancient Buddhist scriptures written by hand on palm leaves.
5. PHRA KEO PAGODA (HAW PHRA KEO)
In Laos , Phra Keo means Jade Buddha. The pagoda was built in 1565 to preserve the famous Jade Buddha Statue, before it was stolen to Thailand in the 18th century. Currently, Phra Keo Pagoda no longer has religious activities but it has become a museum where they stored many precious artifacts related to Buddhism and the former Royal Family.
6. TRIUMPHAL ARCH PATUXAY
The Triumphal Arch Patuxay also known as Anou Savary (The Monument of the Unknown Soldier), this is a famous architectural, artistic, and sculptural work in the capital city of Vientiane. Patuxay is 55m high, has 4 sides, includes seven towers and two sub floors. From the seventh floor, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Vientiane with the Mekong River and many outstanding works of the city.
7. XIENG KHUAN BUDDHA PARK
The Buddha Park is located on a meadow on the banks of the Mekong River with more than 200 statues of various shapes and poses, a mixture of Hinduism, Buddhism and the gods in the epic Ramayana. The colored concrete statues of this period were started construction in 1958 by a Buddhist-Hindu researcher.

8. LUANG PHRA BANG (LUANG PHRA BANG)
Luang Prabang is an ancient city in the province of Luang Prabang, located in north-central Laos, on the east bank of the Mekong River. It was the capital of the Lan Xang Kingdom in the past, this place still preserves many architectural relics related to the royal family, culture and religion of Laos. In 1995, Luang Prabang was recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage.

9. OLD TOWN

10. WAT XIENG THONG (WAT XIENG THONG)
In Luang Prabang, there are many ancient temples and pagodas, but the most beautiful and most important is Xieng Thong Pagoda.
The pagoda was built in 1560, bearing 16th-century Lao architecture and unique with intricate patterns and mosaics. Because of its splendid beauty and elaborate decoration, Xieng Thong Pagoda is likened to “a feast for the eyes and the soul”.
This used to be the place to oversee the coronation of Lao kings and today, it is still an important place for the annual festivals in Luang Prabang.
11. ROYAL PALACE MUSEUM
The Royal Palace Museum was built in 1904, formerly the palace of King Sisavang Vong and his family. Designed by French architects, the palace’s architecture blends traditional Lao and French styles. This is a place worth experiencing if you want to learn about Lao history and culture.
12. PAK OU CAVE
Pak Ou cave, also known as Buddha cave, is located about 25 km from the city center. To get here, visitors have to travel by boat. Inside the cave contains more than 4000 ancient Buddha statues dating from more than 300 years ago of all sizes and shapes. When the capital Luang Prabang was invaded by foreign invaders, Lao people sneaked their boats at night to come here to hide the Buddha statue.
13. KUANG SI waterfall
Kuang Si Waterfall is a famous beautiful waterfall in Luang Prabang with majestic and poetic natural landscape. This place is located nearly 30 km from the city center and is very popular with tourists when coming to Luang Prabang. The main waterfall is about 60m high, forming small cool turquoise lakes, which are likened to a natural swimming pool for visitors to swim comfortably.
14. PHOU SI HILL
Phousi Hill, also known as Phousi Mountain, has a height of 100m, is considered a sacred hill located in the center of Luang Prabang city. Visitors can watch the sunset from the top of the hill, with 360-degree panoramic views of the city along with the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. On the top of the hill there is also a golden pagoda and stupa built by King Anourat in 1804.
